- Goose!
- A movie starring a female superhero that doesn’t suck! Whose character doesn’t smile when told, doesn’t have a romantic subplot, and is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Y E S.
- It was great seeing Fury (and Coulson) with more screen time. He’s had his fair share of adventures with the Avengers, but he still always felt like a more minor character in comparison to the heroes. Captain Marvel made him and Carol Danvers peers in their quest to save the world.
Dislikes:
- I had a hard time connecting with Carol Danvers, and I’m not sure why. Maybe because her past memories made her seem more interesting than her amnesic self. I wish they had more flashbacks of her flying planes, or really any flashbacks of her old life, instead of dim flickers and narrations through eleven-year-olds.
- There was a whole group of Skrull hiding out in an invisible spaceship orbiting Earth for six years with no communication from anyone, possibly unaware that the woman who put them there was dead, and they didn’t run out of supplies or go stir crazy??
- How did Mar-Vell get the tesseract? And if that was the core powering the plane, how did it a) get destroyed by a gunshot and b) end up back on Mar-Vell’s ship? It can either be explained by Mar-Vell using technology that can harness the Space Stone’s power remotely, or…Mar-Vell never perished (which would also explain how the Skrull refugees survived on the plane for so long).
